Events & Fundraisers:

Mustard Seed Extreme Makeover! - An exciting project is underway to renovate the

Mustard Seed Food Bank building by a volunteer organization called Hero Work. The building is in disrepair and ill designed for the many services it provides (with no government funding). However, this project needs community support to get off the ground.  You can help by going to the Hero Work website.

Service Projects - Would you like to organize a service project to benefit the individuals and families at the Mustard Seed Food Bank but don't know where to start?  Seed Ladies can help with ideas, planning and implementation of your project, big or small.  Your group could be a family, a group of parents, children or friends, a church, school or business. There are many simple ways to bring people together for the common goal of helping those less fortunate in our community.  Contact us for more information.

About Seed Ladies

Seed Ladies is a small volunteer organization that works to support the Mustard Seed Food Bank.  One of our goals is to make the practice of giving easy, fun and rewarding.  We organize and carry out quarterly fundraisers and pub nights (Seed Ladies Night Out, Christmas Hamper, Bunny Bags and Spread the Word programs) and help other groups plan and implement their own fundraising events. See our blog for more details on how and what we've done.

One of the cornerstones of what we do is raising awareness around the work of the Mustard Seed and the families it assists.  Why are we doing this?  We know that no matter who you are or where you come from anyone can find themselves in ununsual circumstances or crisis and be in need of food bank assistance.  And, because we have children ourselves, we are especially concerned with the many vulnerable little lives who are affected by poverty.

We believe that every donation and effort, big or small, counts towards healing the crisis of poverty in the community and letting people who are mired in it know that they are not alone, that someone cares.
